Jen's Mint Brownies


Jen’s Mint Brownies



1 cup melted butter
3 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate squares
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 ½ cups flour
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. mint extract
½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Frosting:
6 TB butter
4 TB milk
½ tsp. mint extract
2 cups powdered sugar
2 drops green food coloring

Chocolate Sauce:
6 oz. chocolate chips
3 TB butter

To make brownies:
Melt and mix butter and chocolate squares. Add sugar and eggs, one at a time. Mix in remaining ingredients. Pour into greased and floured 9x13. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Cool before frosting.

Frosting:
Soften butter and add 2 TB milk and extract. Mix in powdered sugar, adding more milk if necessary. Drop in food coloring and frost brownies. Refrigerate for half an hour.

Sauce: Melt chips and butter. Dab and spread onto brownies.

**3 TB coca with 1 TB butter can be substituted for 1 square of baking chocolate
